Our general understanding of the 1984 Sikh Genocide has largely remained confined to Delhi, Kanpur, Bokaro and Hondh-Chillar. However, the violence against Sikhs in November 1984 was not limited to these places. Across various other states of India, Sikh identity was targeted through similar methods and with comparable intensity.
With the aim of thoroughly investigating, researching and documenting this widespread phenomenon, the book series “Tracing the Trail of the Sikh Genocide” stands as a pioneering and significant historical documentation of events that have remained largely overlooked.
Volume 1: Documents incidents in six states—Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
Volume 2: Presents documented accounts of incidents targeting Sikhs in five states—Manipur, Bihar, Assam, West Bengal and Jharkhand.
Volume 3: Continuing this important historical documentation, “Tracing the Trail of the Sikh Genocide, Volume 3” brings to light incidents of the Sikh Genocide in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, presenting them in a historical and documentary form.
This book series is not merely an account of past events; it is an effort to uncover the untold stories and bring to light the historical truths that have yet to receive their rightful place in the collective memory.
