1947 ਵਿਚ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਸਾਮਰਾਜ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਬਹੁਗਿਣਤੀ ਫਿਰਕੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਛੋਟੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਗ਼ਲਬਾ ਪਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਅਭਿਯਾਨ ਆਰੰਭਿਆ ਗਿਆ । 6 ਜੂਨ 1984 ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ‘ਪਿਰਮ ਪਿਆਲਾ’ ਸੰਤ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਭਿੰਡਰਾਂਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਤਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ । ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ੋਰਦਾਰ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਉਭਾਰਨ ਦੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਨੈਤਿਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਸੀ , ਉਹ ਏਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਭਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਮੁਨਕਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ । ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਸੰਤ ਜੀ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਕਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਅਸਲੀ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੰਤਮ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਵੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਸਕੀ, ਨਾ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਹੋਇਆ । ਲਾਸਾਨੀ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਉਭਾਰੇ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਕੇਂਦ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਕੌਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੰਤਮ ਰਸਮਾਂ ਸੰਪੰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਲਿਖੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ । ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੌਮ ਦਾ ਉੱਜਲਾ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਸਿਰਜਣ ਦੇ ਚਾਹਵਾਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋ ਸਕੇਗੀ ।
